Find Linework Fragments

Used to locate unconnected line fragments. Fragments are linear elements with a length shorter than the defined tolerance. Fragments often occur during digitization.

Setting	Description
Mode	Determines how linework fragments are handled. Move - Moves all fragments to the target level. Delete - Deletes all fragments.
Tolerance	The maximum length for a linear element to be considered a fragment. Set this value slightly higher than the longest measured fragment.
Level	Sets the target level when the mode is set to Move.

To Find and Modify Duplicate Linework

Place a fence around the source linework.
Select the Find Linework Fragments tool.
Set the Mode, Tolerance and Level as needed.
Initiate the processing with a data point.
Review the content of the Results dialog.

The results can be saved or appended to a text file by selecting the appropriate option from the Results dialog File menu.

Note: Removing linework fragments may create gaps and/or dangles.
